Quarantine 2020
Who ever thought I would be writing a blog about Quarantine 2020?
It has been rough…
Staying home has not been hard at all, I want to stay home and protect others, my family, friends, and my own health. What has been rough has been handling everything else that happens in life every day while having to distance myself from those who are always there for me. I just want to give my mom and grandma a BIG HUG!
My boyfriend had a seizure last week and instead of taking him to the ER or his family coming to see him after, I had to call everyone and explain what happened and sit with him until he was back to normal. Instead of him being able to get into the neurologist like normal, we are having to wait until things are back to normal until he can get tests done and checked out. Who knows when that will be?
I still have not gotten my stimulus check, nor unemployment due to being self employed. 4 weddings have been rescheduled or cancelled and 20+ sessions have had to be rescheduled or have completely cancelled. Ball State University who I normally photograph their graduation and different events, have cancelled all of those.
These things are so little in comparison to what people have gone through who have gotten Covid-19 or lost someone during this time. I don’t write this to complain, but to vent and share my thoughts during this time. I know that everyone has their struggles and I think it is best to share those but also keep your head up and look at the positives.
So here are some of my positives during Quarantine 2020:
-I finally got my greenhouse built and plants planted! WOOHOO
-I am getting caught up on editing and sending sessions out
-I have taken some self portraits, pet portraits, nature, and more which I am sharing in this post
-Cory and I have gotten to spend some quality time together
-I have found a way to make enough money to pay my bills during this time with commissioning drawings and emailing them to people, yay for having different tastes and interests!
-We have saved lots of money, since I am cooking at home every day and not eating out
I personally think that it is not time yet to open things up, I think we should be cautious to getting back to “normal”. I don’t want to rush anything and anyone I love or care about be put at risk. So at this time I am still not shooting. Delaware County has not lifted the non essential ban on businesses even though Indiana is a little more lenient and announcing that photographers can go back to shooting. So as of now, I am not shooting but will be announcing as soon as I am!
