Read MoreMaggie was the most expressive happy little girl in the studio, then we brought out the cake and things got real serious! She dug into that cake and it was the cutest thing to watch. I love that I captured mom and dad's wedding and now got to capture their little one year old.
I LOVE CAPTURING MILESTONE SESSIONS!
Read MoreSo when I was in preschool we passed the microphone around the stage at graduation and told the audience what we wanted to be when we grew up, I said "I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up!" Then nervously passed that mic to the next kid. I later on learned that veterinarians had to put animals down when they were sick or old, so I changed that dream real quick and just decided I would own all the dogs and cats I could. Now that I am doing my dream job, with several animals of my own, I get to photograph the cutest doggies ever, and it makes my heart so happy!
Check out Finnegan, and his two sweet parents, Kellyn & Christian Reid.
I was so happy when they came strolling up with the cutest doggo Finn for a Mother's Day Mini!
Read MoreDuring our session I found out that both Birdie and I have Type 1 Diabetes! She was such a good little model in the studio. Last fall I had captured some photos at Birdie's mom's home and she was running free and crazy, even at 11 years old, so we decided to do some portraits in the studio so that she was little more confined. Birdie's favorite part of her session was all the treats that mom brought her.
Read MoreMaggie came in for her 9 month photos, and I fell in love with her dark hair and gorgeous eyes! She was cracking me up with all of her adorable facial expressions. I can not wait to work with her again for her 1st Birthday party and watch her dig into her cake! We even snuck a few Easter Photos into her session, she was the perfect little model!
Read MoreI am so excited to show you this past weekend’s project! I say “weekend project” but I spent about a week painting all of the wood, it felt like it was never ending. We spent about 7 hours in the studio on Saturday and about 8 on Sunday finishing up the shelving and organizing all of my props. This turned out 10x better than I ever expected, I could not stop smiling! If you have been in my studio previously, you are not gonna believe the difference it made, it is so much more spacious and open, and now all of my clients can see the props available during sessions.

Emersyn Mae Pittenger was born on December 15, 2018 at 1:50pm weighing 7lbs 11oz and measuring 21 1/2in long. I am so happy that I got to capture her mom and dad’s maternity photos before she was born, and then 2 weeks after she was born I got to capture sweet little Emersyn in my studio. She was wide awake for about an hour and a half, then fell asleep for about 30 minutes. She was absolutely adorable and so sweet during her session.
The Bilyeu family are repeat clients and good friends of mine. Megan and I have known each other since we were little and danced together for years. When Megan and Justin had their precious baby boy, I HAD to capture his newborn photos and now I got the chance to photograph his adorable Christmas photos in the studio. He was the happiest little baby boy!
Read MoreQuinn was such a sweetheart to work with! She was giggling, laughing and on the move! I loved capturing her with my Christmas set up and in her cute little outfits. Her momma and grandma came along and sang and danced with her, keeping her so happy and smiley.
Read MoreI absolutely loved working with Aubrey, she had the cutest little onesie Christmas pajama set and the prettiest little dress that she brought to her session! Aubrey is 10 years old and so mature, sweet, well mannered, and smart! Don’t worry, I helped her eat some of those Chocolate Chip cookies!
Read MoreEaston and Leyson were so sweet and well behaved in the studio! Their adorable sweaters and cute smiles were just too much to handle. They even got to chow down on their Christmas cookies at the end of the session... Don't tell Santa!
Read MoreThe Keihn family was such a blast to work with! I was so glad we captured the short lived fall leaves in the background. Lane. was so excited to have his photo taken, he could barely hold it together! I spent the entire session laughing due to Lane laughing and making the silliest faces! The two oldest children, Raylynn and Raymond JR are twins and both were so sweet and helpful, helping me lay the blankets and helping pose their little brother Lane! Thank you Raymond and Taylor for having me capture your sweet family, I can not wait to capture your family in the future and through out the years!
Read MoreI have known Malory since first grade, she was one of the first friends I made in Mrs. Lane’s class. We both graduated together from Wapahani and then roomed together our freshman year of college at Indiana Wesleyan, where I witnessed Ben propose to Malory! It was so amazing to be able to capture their adorable family and meet little Charlie for the first time! Charlie was wide awake and so smiley I loved capturing all of her expressions. I had a blast catching up with Malory and Ben and capturing so many cute photos of them loving on each other.
Read MoreLiz & Bryan had about 40 people in attendance at their intimate Catholic Wedding Ceremony. They were so sweet, laid back, and so in love. The two kept meeting eyes during the ceremony and huge smiles would burst from their faces! I loved working with their family and friends and especially the two of them to capture such great memories of their special day. Congratulations to Liz and Bryan!
Read MoreOh my word! Where do I start with this adorable unique little family? So James and Elyssa travel all over the place with the fair with their two little girls! Do you know how much respect I have for this family, I can’t imagine having two little girls within 10 months of each other and expecting a third while TRAVELING 6 months of out of the year!
It rained and rained this past week and I thought we were going to catch a small break from the pouring rain… but I was wrong. I messaged Elyssa and told her I would understand if she wanted to reschedule, I was expecting a “Yes I will need to reschedule to a time when its not pouring!” But instead I got a “We might as well go for it!” (I was so excited!)
We got to the White river and it was just sprinkling, so we got out and started our photo session under a tree and then headed down to the river. As soon as we got down to the water it started raining even harder, we then headed across the street to a small park, it of course started raining harder. Elyssa, James, nor the two kids ever complained. I kept apologizing that it was raining so hard and she could have cared less! They all rocked this session and it was honestly so sweet and romantic, with the two cuddling up to each other in the rain, dancing with each other, and watching the two kiddos play and splash in the rain puddles. I am so excited to share a few photos from this perfect session! Thank you Elyssa & James for being AMAZING clients and just going with the flow!
Read MoreSince my highschool senior year when I decided I wanted to become a photographer, I knew I wanted to open my own studio one day. In my head this was such an unrealistic DREAM that I never thought it would actually happen. I assumed that I would be 30/40 years old with kids before I would actually be able to do it, if I could even do it then! After several months of looking at places to rent or buy and nothing seemed to be "just right", I found a space that needed a lot of work but it was PERFECT! After a lot of hard work from Dean, Cory & JR... I HAVE A STUDIO SPACE and a waiting room is in the works! I am so happy with how it turned out, I got to completely start from scratch and pick out the colors, trim, flooring, furniture, and design it to fit Kyla Jo Photography's style PERFECTLY! Thank you to my family who has pushed me and encouraged me to reach for my dreams, for all of the props that they have donated and to all of my clients who have helped me get here! I am so thankful for all of it! I now have an indoor studio space for newborns, children, headshots, pets, boudoir, and anything you can imagine! Here is just a little sneak peek at what my studio looks like and some of the details such as the flooring, paint color, furniture, location, my favorite parts, and some of my props!
