Read MoreSince I can not currently photograph my clients, I found another way to use my creativity to give back to my clients during this time and make a living (yay for having so many interests)!I am creating line drawings from your favorite photos. I have lots of i-phone photographs that are not great quality of Cory and I, and I used one to create a piece to hang in our bedroom.I also have been creating pieces for others from their favorite photo they had taken from either me or another photographer. Here are some samples of my work! If you are interested in having one done, here are all of the details and how to order one:
Read MoreDanielle & Mason were married on Saturday January 4th at church and had their beautiful reception at the Van Buren Event Center in Columbia City. The two of them wrote the sweetest love letters to one another and read them aloud to each other at their first look at a little park under some tall pine trees. I had an amazing time capturing their love for one another throughout the entire day.
Read MoreAriel & Matthew Brown's wedding was held at Meg's Country Celebrations last Sunday and the rain did not stop us from capturing gorgeous photos of their special day. They decided to move their ceremony inside the barn, but as soon as it was over the rain cleared up for beautiful photos. The two wore their Vans on their feet and a smile on their face the entire day. They kissed a million times and it made me smile each time, seeing their love for one another so apparent! So many special dances were held in that barn during their reception and Baby Shark was even played for all of the little ones! Congratulations to Ariel and Matthew on your wedding, and thank you for having me capture it!
Read MoreDanielle & Mason are the sweetest couple, they drove about an hour for me to capture their engagement photos, and were so adventurous during their session (which I appreciate so much!) I love being able to capture my wedding couple's engagement photos as well, that gives us some time to get to know one another and get to know each other's personalities. After our session, they told me how happy they were that they had found me (which makes me so happy to hear).
I always try and make our sessions fun with cuddles and giggles. I will give my couples different scenarios to act out, which usually results in the best natural laughs EVER! This couple did every impression and scenario the best I have ever seen, they had me giggling behind my camera even and saying aww! You can really see their love for one another in all the smiles and sweet moments that I captured.
Here is just a sneak peek at your many photos! I am so excited to capture your wedding next year, YAY!
Get you a man that looks at you like Devin looks at Leah! I loved being able to capture Leah & Devin’s second wedding reception. It poured rain on my drive there and snowed about 2 inches on my way home. Somewhere in between Indiana’s dramatic weather, we got about 40 minutes to capture family, bridal, and couple portraits outside! The Cope Environmental Center was such a modern and unique venue, I loved the modern architecture and the natural light pouring in from outside. These two are so sweet and laid back, and have so much love for one another. Here is a large sneak peek of their family portraits, couple portraits, and a few details from their wedding reception.
Read MoreIT IS WARMING UP OUTSIDE, AND I LOVE IT! That means more outdoor photo sessions, more cuddles and adorable photos. I had the opportunity to work with Kendra and Noah at Whitetail Tree Farm a couple weeks ago, and they were so in love and giggly. They were both so sweet and photogenic, they were cuddling even when I was not posing them. You can see how much they love each other in every photo I took and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Enjoy some of my favorites from Kendra and Noah’s engagement shoot and leave them some love!

These are some of the locations in Indiana and around Muncie that are some of my favorites. I will include reasons why I love these spots and which spots are best for families, seniors, pets, newborns, maternity, couples, and children sessions.
Read MoreMaternity photos usually take place outdoors, but yesterday I had the chance to capture Bridget, her baby bump, and her daughter Kennedy in the studio! It has been so cold and snowy outside, so we decided to shoot indoors, and I was so happy that we chose to! Both Bridget and her daughter were gorgeous in their flowy dresses and floral crowns.
Read MoreWhere do I start? The adorable puppy, their sweet love story, or the fact that I ended up with way too many photos of these two! I had such a blast capturing Leah and Devin’s engagement photos at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I met Leah in Art School (How fitting) and was so excited when she contacted me to photograph the two of them and their adorable puppers. These are just a handful of all of the great shots that we captured on such a cold and icy day, they were smiling and so much fun to work with, the entire time, even after I made them sit right on the icy cement! Congratulations to this sweet couple and I am so excited to see your future together!
Read MoreRobyn & Matt Brown made the cutest little boy Luke! The adorable facial expressions I have had to sort through and edit had me smiling the entire time. I have known Robyn and Matt for about 5 years and ever since I met them I knew they would make the most loving amazing parents, and I was right. The amount of love these two have for this little boy is so abundant. Thank you for having me capture your family, there are so many more photos to come.

Lane. was so excited to have his photo taken, he could barely hold it together! I spent the entire session laughing due to Lane laughing and making the silliest faces! The two oldest children, Raylynn and Raymond JR are twins and both were so sweet and helpful, helping me lay the blankets and helping pose their little brother Lane! Thank you Raymond and Taylor for having me capture your sweet family, I can not wait to capture your family in the future and through out the years!
Read MoreI have known Malory since first grade, she was one of the first friends I made in Mrs. Lane’s class. We both graduated together from Wapahani and then roomed together our freshman year of college at Indiana Wesleyan, where I witnessed Ben propose to Malory! It was so amazing to be able to capture their adorable family and meet little Charlie for the first time! Charlie was wide awake and so smiley I loved capturing all of her expressions. I had a blast catching up with Malory and Ben and capturing so many cute photos of them loving on each other.

Their day was absolutely perfect, her unique and beautiful wedding gown, all of the little details, the fall decor, their adorable son, the games they played on the dance floor, and the love this couple shares for one another. Thank you Nick and Takeisha for allowing me to be a part of your special day!

Read MoreOh my word! Where do I start with this adorable unique little family? So James and Elyssa travel all over the place with the fair with their two little girls! Do you know how much respect I have for this family, I can’t imagine having two little girls within 10 months of each other and expecting a third while TRAVELING 6 months of out of the year!
It rained and rained this past week and I thought we were going to catch a small break from the pouring rain… but I was wrong. I messaged Elyssa and told her I would understand if she wanted to reschedule, I was expecting a “Yes I will need to reschedule to a time when its not pouring!” But instead I got a “We might as well go for it!” (I was so excited!)
We got to the White river and it was just sprinkling, so we got out and started our photo session under a tree and then headed down to the river. As soon as we got down to the water it started raining even harder, we then headed across the street to a small park, it of course started raining harder. Elyssa, James, nor the two kids ever complained. I kept apologizing that it was raining so hard and she could have cared less! They all rocked this session and it was honestly so sweet and romantic, with the two cuddling up to each other in the rain, dancing with each other, and watching the two kiddos play and splash in the rain puddles. I am so excited to share a few photos from this perfect session! Thank you Elyssa & James for being AMAZING clients and just going with the flow!
Read MoreSince my highschool senior year when I decided I wanted to become a photographer, I knew I wanted to open my own studio one day. In my head this was such an unrealistic DREAM that I never thought it would actually happen. I assumed that I would be 30/40 years old with kids before I would actually be able to do it, if I could even do it then! After several months of looking at places to rent or buy and nothing seemed to be "just right", I found a space that needed a lot of work but it was PERFECT! After a lot of hard work from Dean, Cory & JR... I HAVE A STUDIO SPACE and a waiting room is in the works! I am so happy with how it turned out, I got to completely start from scratch and pick out the colors, trim, flooring, furniture, and design it to fit Kyla Jo Photography's style PERFECTLY! Thank you to my family who has pushed me and encouraged me to reach for my dreams, for all of the props that they have donated and to all of my clients who have helped me get here! I am so thankful for all of it! I now have an indoor studio space for newborns, children, headshots, pets, boudoir, and anything you can imagine! Here is just a little sneak peek at what my studio looks like and some of the details such as the flooring, paint color, furniture, location, my favorite parts, and some of my props!
Read MoreI have known Megan since I was a little girl, she was several years older than me but it never seemed to matter. We danced together at Molly's and traveled on mission trips together, served food to the homeless, made late night Walmart trips in our pjs, made up dances, laughed uncontrollably, and gave each other silly nicknames. The fact that I got to capture her precious little boy, Jameson Michael Bilyeu makes my heart melt! I just kept telling her the entire session how absolutely perfect he is and how being a mom fits her so well. Here is a sneak peek at your perfect little, week old boy!
